I was going through some old photos on my computer last night, and came across these photos from the Ntarama Catholic church in Rwanda.
In these images I can clearly see the beginning of my passion for photojournalism, and the end of my journey in religion.
I had gone to Rwanda on a research trip, and taken a Canon Digital Rebel with a kit lens. I shot everything on the full-auto “green rectangle.” I had no idea what I was doing.
But I saw the way people reacted to these images, as amateurish and technically flawed as they were, and I was hooked. The past is prologue.

right! those were my neighbors and can name each one of them if that was possible to get back their real image. Thank you for all you do brother and for visiting my old Church (Ntarama}.
Serge-
I hope you are doing well, brother. Your story has had a big impact on my life. The way you have chosen to respond to the atrocities you endured in your country is an inspiration. I hope to visit you in Rwanda someday.
