It’s April 5, again. Tomorrow marks 14 years since the beginning of the Rwandan genocide.

Never again.

My politics of developing countries class watch Hotel Rwanda in class this week; I was surprised at how few of them (2 of 16) had seen it before. It made a big impression on them.

    Greg,

forgive my presumptiveness, but what do you mean by ‘never again’? Has humanity learned its lesson this time? Has the world finally understood? Has the Kingdom so pervaded the Kosmos that such events are inconceivable?

    Luke,
Sadly, these things will continue to happen. “Never again,” however, is the hopeful rally cry of Rwandans around the world during April as they try to raise awareness about the causes of genocide, and work to prevent it. It is more a statement of hope than of reality.
