My host in the Awer IDP camp was also an excellent guide. He showed me things I would have missed, and explained things I would have misinterpreted or simply passed over. He spent a decent chunk of time explaining how many of the older men in the camp simply stayed drunk for as long as they could. My guide seemed to think that lack of meaningful work to do, and a general lack of hope, was the cause for this…
