Skukuza Rest Camp

One year ago today, Sara and I were eating tea and scones underneath this large thatched shelter at the Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger National Park, a wildlife reserve about the size of Massachusetts.

This colony of bats resides there by day, sleeping and generally staying out of the way, and then swooping out to hunt for bugs by night. We don’t get this type of dining experience in Abilene…
