This is from an antiques/curios store in Kigali. We kept hearing that Rwanda had no native artisans, or at least hadn’t had many for some time, so they “imported” most of the carvings and statues and wood-worked bowls and things from the neighboring Congo. You could pick up a 100-year-old ceremonial mask for $15. And, they accept Mastercard!
